Chess in Maharashtra State is to be administered by the State Association affiliated to All India Chess Federation (AICF). Many years back, Maharashtra Chess Association was formed after merging of many regional Chess Associations. Then, for some some reason, All Marathi Chess Association (AMCA) became the body affiliated to AICF for Maharashtra State for few years. Today, MCA is again administering the activities of Chess in Maharashtra State.
A few years back, Satara District Chess Association (SDCA) was the administering body for Chess in Satara District. When, MCA restarted the administration of Chess in Maharashtra, Rapid Chess Association Satara (RCAS) became administering body of Chess in Satara District.
It is generally believed that
Case 1: AMCA and MCA are diffrent bodies, who are in a conflict
Case 2: SDCA and RACS are different bodies, who are in conflict
Please note that over the period, names have changed and confusion has been created, slowing the development of Chess. The people who are working for administration of Chess have not changed and they are all part of the Chess Fraternity as one.
